One the of Blue Water Young Professionals’ newest members, Sara Grout has been involved with the group since February 2017. Not shy, Sara is already highly active in almost everything we do.
So far she has brought her vivacious personality and sense of humor to the Community Tour and Volleygrass committees. Sara was the lead planner for our Cros-Lex tour stop. She is also slated to lead the ChillyFest Bed Races committee in the winter of 2018.
“I moved back to the area after being away for seven years during school and didn’t know many people in the Port Huron community,” she said. “I think that this has been a really great way for me to re-connect with the area and meet new people that I otherwise would not have had the opportunity to meet.”
A Croswell native, Sara thinks the BWYP has had a great impact on the Port Huron community and would like to see it expand to other communities in the area.
Sara works as an attorney at Touma, Watson, Whaling, Coury, Stremers & Thomas P.C. in downtown Port Huron. She earned a BS in Business Administration for marketing from Wayne State University and a Juris Doctor from Case Western Reserve University.
She also likes to keep busy outside of work and the BWYP.
“Besides the obvious long walks on moonlit beaches… I like to bake and read (cookbooks included) and eat,” she said. “Also, I grew up on a farm so I would much rather be outside than in, boating and traveling in the summer and snowmobiling in the winter.”
