Adam James Armbruster founded BWYP in 2009 to show his passion and appreciation for the area.
Working as president of the board, his main objective is to get young professionals involved in this community early on in their professional lives in fun and worthwhile ways.
“I’ve lost count of how many close friends I’ve made and professional connections I’ve established because of the group,” he said. “I 100 percent believe that there isn’t a better way for someone in our age demographic to either begin to or further integrate themselves into both the professional and social worlds of the Blue Water Area.”
A.J. wants the group to be catalysts for community enhancement. He believes that is done by collaborating on events, helping promote the area and discussing thoughts and ideas with other community leaders.
Currently involved with the Black River Walk and Volleygrass committees, A.J. has also volunteered for most of the events BWYP has worked on or participated in, like the SC4 vs. BWYP Hockey games and Chilly Fest Bed Races.
A firm believer in common sense and not over thinking the obvious, he would much rather do something than chat about it.
“Nike got the slogan right a long time ago,” he said.
When he’s not busy with the YPs, A.J. works as a chiropractor at Shaw Chiropractic in Port Huron. He earned his Doctorate of Chiropractic at Life University in Marietta, GA.
In his free time A.J. enjoys all things sports. Big into golf and volleyball right now, he’ll play or watch whatever happens to be around that day.
“I’m an outdoor kind of guy,” he said. “In the winter I’m a big fan of cold weather bonfires and snowmobiling and in the summer you’re not doing Port Huron right if you don’t get out on the boat and enjoy the water.”
A.J. is also excited to become a dad in the spring. His lovely wife, Beth Ann, is pregnant with their first child.
