Two cleanup events planned for River Walk
The Friends of the St. Clair River will have a spring cleanup of the Blue Water River Walk from 10 a.m. to noon April 4.
Volunteers should meet under the arch at the north end of the walk along the St. Clair River in Port Huron.
Families will be able to scout for spring plants and wildlife and pick up trash and debris. There will be an egg hunt for the children.
A separate event, the Blue Water River Walk Butts Out, will be at 9 a.m. April 18. Local photographer Tom Faucher will provide a print for the person who picks up the most cigarette butts.
Volunteers do not need to register for the events. Children should bring a basket to the April 4 event so they can collect eggs.
