A veteran of the Blue Water Young Professionals, Jacquelyn Hanton helped A.J. Armbruster form the group in 2009, and has acted as the group’s vice president since its nonprofit formation in 2011.
“Personally, it’s a way to be involved in supporting our community’s economic and social prosperity,” said Jackie. “Plus, we have great people who all carry the same desire to be catalysts for community enhancement.”
Tirelessly working for the group, Jackie has been part of pretty much every sub-committee at one point or another. She recently chaired the Black River Walk committee and always enjoys being part of the Chilly Fest Bed Races.
She is also happy to see other members stepping into leadership roles for our social, hockey and St. Clair sub-committees.
“It’s my hope that our group continues to show that we are active members of our Blue Water area, and that we take action on ideas that will help our area thrive because we are proud of what our cities have to offer,” Jackie said.
Outside of BWYP, Jackie works as Managing Director and Trust Officer for Talmer Bank and Trust in downtown Port Huron. She is a certified trust and financial adviser, and holds a bachelor’s from Michigan State University and Juris Doctor from Thomas M. Cooley Law School.
Jackie has a passion for horseback riding and looks forward to having horses back in her yard one day. She loves traveling and has been blessed to trek the globe with her husband, places ranging from anywhere up north to Australia, and plans on visiting many more. Places with great vineyards are a plus.
They also took the plunge into parenthood this Christmas, welcoming a baby girl into the family.
“I plan to become an expert at work/family balance so that I can stay as involved in the BWYP and community as possible,” Jackie said.
