Joey Koehn likes to have fun. So much so he helps all BWYP members have fun at our socials in his role as social committee co-chair.
But that isn’t the only thing he gets out of the group.
“I joined BWYP’s because I wanted to get involved with an organization that is dedicated to making a difference in the area I live,” Joey said.
He likes the people and the impact the group has on the community, and uses the connections he gained to learn more about his community and how he can help make a difference.
“I was heavily involved with a nonprofit in college that focused on making a difference for colleges and universities across the nation and knew I wanted to do something that made a difference after my college career,” he said.
Joey works for the Boy Scouts of America – Blue Water District and holds a bachelor’s in communications from Saginaw Valley State University.
Under his leadership, our socials have taken on a more charitable aspect in line the BWYP’s tagline “stay, play, shop, give back”. Attendees are now encouraged to bring items for donate for local nonprofits.
In his free time, Joey likes to spend as much time outside as possible enjoying activities like kayaking and walking. He also likes TGIT (Thank God It’s Thursday) on ABC.
“You can find me watching Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal and How to Get Away with Murder on those days,” he said.
