Kendra has been in the BWYP for a number of years and has served on the board since November 2014.
She is the group’s go-to and currently serves as part of the media team. She also helps with anything and everything, including Chilly Fest Bed Races, Volleygrass, Kegs N Ks, the YP Community Tour and in the past has worked on the Art Hop committee and volunteered at Gus Macker.
“Being a member means I get the chance to play a small part in many projects and events that I might not be exposed to otherwise,” she said.
Kendra feels that the organization provides a collective voice in our community for the young professional.
She’s also gotten to meet some wonderful people through the YPs. And she likes that while we are making a difference in our community, we have a lot of fun doing it!
“I want to advocate for, support and encourage area young adults to take pride in our community and make a positive impact,” Kendra said.
She works as Director of Library Services at St. Clair County Community College, and earned her Bachelor of Science from Kendall College of Art & Design and a Master of Library and Information Science from Wayne State University.
In her free time Kendra likes to stay active by kayaking, running, biking, hiking, snowboarding and playing with her mutts. Her other hobbies include reading, ceramics, cooking, gardening and DIY house projects.
